Whittier Cruise Ship Schedule

As in previous years, a number of cruise ships will arrive in  and depart from Whittier in 2007. Here are some tips to help you prepare for the trip.

Whittier is about 60 road miles southeast of Anchorage. One of the unique features of Whittier is that it is connected to the Alaska’s road system by a 2.5 mile long tunnel which is shared by alternating one-way auto and railroad traffic.

Whittier is an hour drive from Anchorage by car, but additional time should be considered for the tunnel passage. The Alaska Railroad offers service between Whittier and Anchorage, and many companies offer bus transportation, rental cars and limo service to and from Whittier. Be sure to make timely reservations.

Accommodations in Whittier are limited but alternate choices are available in nearby Girdwood or Anchorage.

This website provides information about transportation, lodging and charters for your convenience. We hope you will enjoy you trip and the visit to our unique little town at the heart of south central Alaska.
